Cross-platform React Native app for offline field service management, syncing operational status with a central API.
Field technicians needed to complete detailed service logs and reference technical manuals while operating in remote zones lacking network coverage. Relying on physical paper forms caused delays in reporting operational statuses, inventory adjustments, and billing processes.
Ensuring reliable, offline-capable digital documentation was vital to accelerate project invoicing and regional planning tasks.
Norexter Solutions designed and developed a cross-platform React Native application. To achieve a seamless offline-first capability, we integrated SQLite for local database storage, preserving work order parameters, technical PDFs, and form drafts locally on the user's device.
We implemented a custom background synchronization sync worker that tracks connection availability, resolving schema conflicts and pushing data updates back to the primary database when online.
The app allows field crews to query downloaded documentation instantly and finalize repair logs. When a cellular or Wi-Fi connection is detected, the background synchronization engine securely publishes draft data and syncs new assignments in less than 5 seconds.
Digitizing the service log workflows removed administrative processing bottlenecks and eliminated report transmission delays.
